Taking regular breaks from the computer is key to protecting your health. The longer you spend without a break, the more fatigue and damage will build up, and the greater your risk of developing aches, pains and more serious RSI conditions. You're also more likely to get tired eyes, headaches, and start making more mistakes as your concentration is affected
Ideally, you should take regular short breaks of 5-10 minutes' duration every hour. Use these breaks to get up and walk away from your computer, do some simple stretch exercises, or even just switch to a non-computer based task for a while - a change is just as good as a rest
