Break and
micro-break reminders
|

Taking regular breaks from the computer is key to protecting your health. The
longer and harder you work without a break, the more fatigue and damage will
build up, and the greater your risk of developing aches, pains and more serious
RSI conditions. You're also more likely to get tired eyes, headaches, and
start making more mistakes as your concentration is affected
Ideally, you should take regular short breaks of 5-10 minutes' duration
every hour. Use these breaks to get up and walk away from your computer, do
some simple stretch exercises, or even just switch to a non-computer based task
for a while - a change is just as good as a rest

Micro-breaks are very short breaks of a few seconds to around a minute.
They're intended to help you avoid fatigue and maintain tip-top performance
at work. You stay at your desk, but use the micro-break to relax your muscles,
rest your eyes by focusing on a distant object, and think about your posture
PostureMinder's break and micro-break reminders promote good break habits.
The period between break reminders, like all of PostureMinder's parameters,
are under your control, so you can customise PostureMinder to suit your
personal way of working. Unlike some break reminder products on the market,
PostureMinder will never try to force you to take a break when you're in
the middle of an important piece of work
